A short and easy hike to a quiet, secluded vantage point with a view of the Ötscher!

This leisurely hike starts at the Ötscher base in Wienerbruck and initially leads uphill along a path and then along an almost flat forest road through the forest to the Marienstein. There you are rewarded with a wonderful view of the Ötscher and the surrounding landscape.

Equipment Sturdy footwear
Route description Starting from the Ötscher-Basis to the large parking lot, turn right before the guesthouse Esletzbichler and then follow the path to a junction onto a forest road. Follow the forest road to Marienstein.
Parking Paid parking spaces are available at the Ötscher-Basis - 5€/day. The revenues from parking management benefit the maintenance of the nature park. (at parking meters, only coin payments possible)
Getting there From Linz: motorway A1; exit Ybbs; direction Wieselburg and Scheibbs (approx. 1.5 h from Linz) From Vienna: motorway A1; exit St. Pölten through the Pielach valley (approx. 1.5 h from Vienna) From Styria (coming from Graz): S35 towards Leoben up to the Bruck/Mur junction, B116 to Kapfenberg, B20 towards Mariazell
Public transport Mariazellerbahn from St. Pölten or Mariazell to Wienerbruck-Josefsberg. www.mariazellerbahn.at
