Please read the following information (trail closures, opening hours etc.) before your visit to the Nature Park!

The 2024 summer season is open - this means that the Ötschergräben and the Hintere Tormäuer are accessible again.

The Ötscher-Basis Nature Park Center can still be reached by phone from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm on 02728/21 100. You are also welcome to send us an email to info@naturpark-oetscher.at.

Road closures and road blocks

• Hiking trail Vordere Tormäuer - Trübenbach: The hiking trail is CLOSED due to forestry work/road construction from Tuesday, May 31, 2022 until further notice. Alternative hike: The closed section of the trail can be bypassed over a large area (1 km) via the Sommererbrücke / Teufelskirche / Teufelskirche suspension footbridge.
• Closure of hiking trail no. 34 and no. 31 Grießelreith - Pledichen - Pechtaschen due to clean-up work for storm damage from August 29, 2023 until further notice.
• Due to clearing work with the cable winch caused by storm damage, all hiking trails in the Winkelbach and Feldwies area are closed until the end of June 2024.This also affects the Hochkar - Dürrenstein - Ötscher alpine tour. The hiking trail from Kl. Ötscher via Türndlmäuer to Feldwies is not affected
• Due to wood work, the Erlaufursprung - Brach hiking trail is closed from now until 20.06.2024
• Due to a bridge renovation in Erlaufboden, there may be 30-minute closures from May 6 until further notice. This may also lead to a 5-day full closure from July 8th. A detour route will lead via the Panoramaweg through Puchenstuben from the start of the closure.

Opening hours Ötscher Base

The Ötscher-Basis Nature Park Center is always there for you - we are on site for you daily from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm and can also be reached by telephone on +43 2728/ 21 100. You are also welcome to send us an email to info@naturpark-oetscher.at. During the summer season, the supply of regional food is guaranteed for hikers. For group inquiries, please contact us in good time at the above e-mail address or telephone number.

Opening hours regional kitchen

May & June: Friday - Sunday & public holidays from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm;
July & August: Thursday to Monday & public holidays from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm; September & October: Friday to Sunday & public holidays from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm. Open outside our regular opening hours for events on request. For groups of 10 people or more, reservations must be made in advance.
