The cozy alpine hut at Hochbärneck can accommodate up to 150 guests. In the summer, you can enjoy a meal in the outdoor dining area with a view of the cows on the adjacent alpine pasture. On particularly hot days, the 150-year-old linden tree provides shade. A children’s playground, an alpine garden, and an observation deck make the Hochbärneck Alpine Hut an attractive excursion destination for the whole family.

Bus groups are also always welcome at the highest entry point to the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park. For overnight stays, there are 5 double rooms and 14 dormitory beds available. From May through October, guided hikes led by a nature guide on the theme “The Alpine Pasture and Its Views” take place on the third Saturday of every month. The meeting point is at 2:00 p.m. at the Almhaus.

P.S.: In winter , the charming little ski area invites you to enjoy a relaxing day trip in the snow.

Hours: Open year-round
