Getting there and admission

The fastest way to the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park: Travel by car or take a convenient train ride with the Mariazell Railway!

With the train

Please book your combination ticket in advance und travel car-free to the nature park by taking the Mariazell Railway. Good starting points are the train stations Puchenstuben, Gösing, Annaberg, Wienerbruck, Erlaufklause as well as Mitterbach.

The convenient hiking trains will start running on May 1st again!

With the car

Coming from Linz: Motorway A1; exit Ybbs; direction Wieselburg and Scheibbs (approx. 1.5 h from Linz).

Coming from Vienna: A1 motorway; exit St. Pölten through the Pielach valley (approx. 1.5 h from Vienna)

From Styria: Coming from Graz: S35 in the direction of Leoben as far as the Bruck/Mur junction, B116 as far as Kapfenberg, B20 in the direction of Mariazell

Please note that there is a fee for all parking spaces at the nature park, and the parking meters only accept coins.

Season parking ticket including annual admission to the nature park for €40.-!

The parking fees are used, amongst other things, for the following:
/ New construction and renovation of footbridges, bridges, and the trail network
/ Recreational infrastructure
/ Maintenance of parking facilities
/ Continuous optimization of signposts
/ Improvement of information services
/ Expansion of the public transport offer

Admission to the Ötscher Tormäuer Nature Park

This fee is used for the maintenance of the nature park infrastructure such as trails, footbridges, and bridges as well as resting areas.

Admission can also be paid directly on the Mariazell Railway!

Combination ticket with the Mariazell Railway

• € 6,- for adults

The combination ticket includes one single admission to the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park and one single ticket for the Mariazell Railway between the train stations Mitterbach and Winterbach.

Day combination ticket with the Mariazell Railway

• € 8,50,- for adults
• € 4,30,- for children (6-14 years)

The day combination ticket includes one single admission to the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park and an unlimited number of rides on the Mariazell Railway between the train stations Mitterbach and Winterbach on the respective day.

Dogs in the Nature Park

Dogs are very welcome in the nature park. There are no additional fees if you bring your dog, however, it is mandatory to keep dogs on their leash in the entire nature park.
On the Mariazell Railway, you can take your dog along for a fee. Small dogs carried in dedicated transport containers travel free of charge. Please note that muzzles and leashes are mandatory (except for assistance dogs).
